AI-powered text-to-code is powerful, but it lacks an easier access point. Most AI code apps are either obscurely narrow or far too free-ranging. Their target audience is often experienced programmers themselves who use AI code to ramp up productivity.
Rarely does an AI code app offers a gentler onboarding experience to newbies.
Our goal with 2077 is to create a gamified version of an AI text-to-code app. While you are certainly free to explore and create at will, we seek to turn the entire experience into an RPG-like game with credits, potions, inventories and most importantly, quests.
Instead of creating whatever you want - and learning little - 2077 will challenge users to create increasingly more complex apps using a wide variety of frameworks via targeted quests. Completing quests earns you credits that can be used in-game for a variety of perks and rewards.
On the backend, 2077 is powered by a powerful virtual machine that creates a complete React + NodeJS environment within the browser. Users can access the full power of a NodeJS backend, complete with a package installer. On the frontend, users can create powerful apps using any React framework, from NextJS to NextScript to Astro.
Over the course of the “game”, users will get to create apps of varying complexity and scale, using a wide variety of frameworks, and a wide variety of use-cases.
Along the way, we hope our players learn the mastery of AI tools and can create powerful apps of their own, without guidance.
